Mr. Americano - I think you need to brush up on your words, as that is a perfectly acceptable variant. It follows in the same line as "spent, swept, and meant" in taxonomy. In addition, it helps distinguish when written, the difference between "learn-ed" (a learned professor) and "learn'd" (I learned something today) for both non-native and beginning speakers.

Please tell me you did not intend to spell "Learnt" this way for a point. Especiallywhile remarking to students. lol. Maybe you wanted to just get people to respond? I for one fell for that - otherwise, goodnight. Oh, and work hard everyday "slowly"? That was an interesting comment - as a business owner I hope I never run into employees that work hard slowly, steadily - yes - never slowly. My daughter studies hard and is done with her homework in class so she can focus on her ballet in the evenings. She works hard everyday and quickly - with A's. I'm not wanting to sound bitchy - just wanting to clarify your statement.

Hey kids, welcome back to school. Isn't it exciting to be in class again. Sometimes school is fun, other days, its hard. Some days you feel l like an alien. But if you work hard everyday slowly you'll realise how much you have learnt.
